A full hydraulic pressure test and 14-point inspection to BS9990:2015. Digital certificate issued the same day on pass.
A dry riser is a system of pipes installed in multi-storey buildings that allows the fire brigade to quickly deliver water to any floor during a fire. Unlike wet risers, the pipe is kept empty (dry) and is connected to the fire service's pumping appliances at street level via an inlet breeching.
Dry risers are required in buildings with floors between 18 and 60 metres above ground level. They are a critical piece of fire safety infrastructure — if they fail when needed, the consequences can be catastrophic.
Annual dry riser testing is required under BS9990:2015 (Code of Practice for Non-Automatic Fire-Fighting Systems) and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Responsible persons — building owners and managing agents — must ensure tests are carried out and records kept.
Failure to maintain your dry risers can result in enforcement action from the Fire and Rescue Authority, prohibition notices, and unlimited fines.
Every annual test covers a full 14-point visual inspection plus a 15-minute hydraulic pressure test at 10 bar.
